The final results from the Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot are in and there are
some surprises. Some of the biggest winners didn't have the biggest

right time. Here are the final standings after both days of the Tuna

Reel and Deal took the biggest Yellowfin Tuna category with a 208 lb.
giant Tuna. They won the daily jackpots totaling $77,400 plus $39,100
for first place totaling $116,500.00. First place with largest tuna and
first place in biggest winnings. Congratulations!!

Second place winner was Reel Quest with a 192 lb. tuna that netted them
$4,600.00

Third place went to Fish Tales with their day 2 fish of 182.4 lbs and
their $2300.00 prize.

Fifth place went to KW's Karma, a 43' Cabo Flybridge in the Picante
Sportfishing Fleet, with some well placed money in the right jackpots.
They took home $70,800.00.

The sixth place fish which brought in 3rd place winnings was from the
team on Minerva with winnings totaling $63,200.00.

Timing and well placed bets in the right jackpots brought another team
some winnings with smaller fish. And 4th in the money with the 11th and
13th place fish was Shambala, totaling winnings of $57,000.00.

The the lucky anglers in the Wahoo/Dorado division were the team on

2010 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament Day Two Results

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, 5 Nov 2010 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament Day 2 Results from Picante Sportfishing <http://www.picantesportfishing.com>

Day 2 results from the Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot are in. The Cabo fishing has been great and has been the best in the history of the WON Tuna Jackpot. Following are the results from Day 2.

Boat #87, Reel and Deal, brought in a tuna of 208 pounds. It was another of those fairy tale stories. They were fishing near the Gordo Banks and were going to fish to the end. All the boats were leaving, but they figured they might as well stay out and fish to the end. Well at 3 PM an hour before lines out they got a hit and fought the fish for a couple of hours. It was a long battle, but when they got it to the boat they thought they might have a fish that could score them some money. So at 5PM they headed back to the harbor. They put the boat to the test and got back to the harbor near 5:45 and got the fish to the scales and bingo. It was the fish they hoped it would be. It weighed in at 208 pounds, the first and only fish to tip the scales at over 200 pounds. They topped the previous 192 pound top fish scored by Reel Quest. Do we see a pattern. Reel and Deal and Reel Quest. They were both Real lucky. Unfortunately for Reel Quest their big fish was topped by 16 pounds. That meant that Reel and Deal won the Jackpots in the $500, $1,000 and $2,000 categories. That totaled them $77,400. Not bad for a day's work. And they also scored the unofficial largest fish. The official prizes for the tournament will be announced at the awards banquet tomorrow night.

The next place money winners were on board the Minerva V. They scored big with their 158.3 pound fish. They were in both the $3,000 and $5,000 jackpots. That netted them a cool $63,200. Just goes to show that there is glory in the bigger fish, but if you aren't in the jackpots, there is only glory. Landing the 4th heaviest fish put them at the number two money winner.

Then, the Shambala, yesterday's winners in the $3,000 and $5,000 dollar jackpots, hit the money with their 8th place fish for the day. That fish netted them $16,000 in the $10,000 category. You have to enter the jackpots to win the money and they did again.

So as it stands, it looks like Reel and Deal will be the final winners with their 208 pound Yellowfin Tuna. Check back tomorrow for the official results and some pictures of the big fish.

And, in the optional Wahoo/Dorado Jackpot, Mucho Bueno, with their 56.8 pound Wahoo, took home $32,000.

2010 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament Results Day 1

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, 4 Nov 2010 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament Results from Picante Sportfishing <http://www.picantesportfishing.com>

The results from the first day of the 2010 Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament are in. With water temperatures hovering about 82F and the winds brisk it was a tough day of fishing. All the boats are out there looking for the elusive 300 pounder. A couple of weeks ago a giant tuna was caught out off Gordo Banks. All the boats in the tournament are hoping to find the sibling of that 351 pound giant Yellowfin Tuna.

Something that big would be a sure winner. But for now only smaller fish are being taken. They are respectable fish, but not what everyone is hoping for. But with 118 teams there have been 12 fish taken over 100 lbs. so things are looking good and everyone is hoping for that big one.

Today winners were Afishonados with a very nice 180.0 pound Yellowfin Tuna that netted them $44,600.00 in optional jackpot winnings.

Second place went to KW's Karma, a 43' Cabo Flybridge Yacht in the Picante Sportfishing fleet, with an 167.1 pound Yellowfin Tuna and optional jackpots totaling $70,800.00 according the scoring boards.

Third place went to Shambala with a 133.1 pound Yellowfin, netting them $41,200.00 in optional jackpots.

The other big winner was Marea with a 34.8 pound Wahoo that brought in $32,000.00.

These are unofficial reports until the official announcements at the Saturday Awards Dinner.

Tune in tomorrow for updated reports.

12th Annual Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot will be taking place in Cabo San Lucas, Nov. 3-6, 2010.

The sign ups came in fast and furious. At over twice the rate of last
year. And the fishing has been good for big tuna. In the last few weeks
the tuna fishing in Cabo has been heating up. With a spattering of big
tuna in the 150 to 230 pound range being brought in over the last few
months, everyone was hoping that this year would be another big tuna
year. If things shape up as they have in the last few weeks it will be a
very, very fun tournament.
Here are a couple of samples what October has brought us.

In the middle of October on a dead small sardina near the inner Gordo
Banks Sergio Carillo and some friends hooked this giant Yellowfin Tuna
and after it became tail wrapped it was a 1 1/2 hour battle to bring it
to the boat. It weighed in at 335.5 pounds

Then a week later some of our northern fishing brothers, from Canada,
fishing at the Gordo banks landed a real giant of a Yellowfin Tuna. Cabo
John, Mike Nelson, and Ken Bond, using 80 lb. test line battled 4 1/2
hours to bring this huge Yellowfin Tuna to the boat. It tipped the
scales at 351 lbs.
So keep tuned in to see how things shape up and good luck to all the
fishermen.
